If you are a person who does not speak English as your primary language, and/ or who has a limited ability to read, speak, or understand English, or if you are deaf or hard of hearing and use ASL interpreters, you may be eligible to receive language assistance.MCCMH will make interpretation services available to LEP individuals, free of charge, for all non-English languages, for purposes of:
-Understanding information provided in PIHP Documents Critical to Obtaining Services
-Understanding and communicating the requirements and/or other details of PIHP benefits;
Additional oral interpreter services related to Macomb County CMH’s function or related to Macomb County CMH as a provider of health-related services will be provided by Macomb County CMH subject to the “reasonableness” standard and approval.
Language Assistance Services should be submitted by Macomb County CMH staff via a written request to the Civil Rights Coordinator. Just inform the Macomb County CMH staff the language you would like an interpreter for and they will assist with the request by emailing or contacting the Civil Rights Coordinator.
If you are a person who is deaf or hard of hearing, you can use the Michigan Relay Center (MRC) to reach MCCMH or your provider. Please call 7-1-1 and ask MRC to connect you to the number you are trying to reach.
Also, all MCCMH offices are equipped with telephone interpreter services to help us talk to you in your native language. (We will place your call on “hold” briefly while we connect to an interpreter.)
Previously translated written Documents Critical to Obtaining Services and Vital Documents will be promptly provided to LEP Consumers at no cost. All other requests for Language Assistance Services should be submitted by MCCMH staff via a written request to the Civil Rights Coordinator for approval.
